Essay: H.D. in Devon

Woodland Cottage, H.D.'s retreat during early 1916
Woodland Cottage, H.D.'s retreat during early 1916

An essay on the writer H.D.'s months spent on the north Devon coast in 1916, titled 'Sea-Thyme in the Southwest: H.D.’s Se/a/cret Garden', was published online by theH.D. Web - read the essay here .

The piece was written after many years spent trying to locate the whereabouts of the cottage that H.D. stayed at, on the north Devon coast,  in Spring 1916 and many hours researching her life and writing there, near the dramatic location of Heddon's Mouth.
